At the Freeper protests I've been at lately, people have spontaneously broken into a chorus of patriotic songs like our national anthem. I thought it'd be a good idea to have a lyrics sheet available if anyone wants to print a bunch of copies to hand out at protests. Such patriotic hymns really roils liberal Gore supporters when sung aloud - it's like holy water to demons.
Thus, I've thrown together a Word document with the lyrics for six patriotic songs that could be sung at protests: The Star Spangled Banner, Battle Hymn of the Republic, God Bless America, My COuntry 'Tis Of Thee, America The Beautiful & Grand Old Flag.

Even without a tune, a chant might also get the lefties goat. With apologies to Mother Goose (Little Jack Horner), here's:
Little Al Goron
Little Al Goron,
He sat like a moron,
Eating his SCOFLA pie.
With his thumb he pushed hard,
'Til chads fell from his card,
Saying:
My what a good boy am I!
I imagine Gore must tell himself he's a good boy (a la "Preppy" from Love
Story) 10 times a day.

I'll try to add more lyrics to the song sheet if people post them in replies here. I can cut out everything but the first verse in these pieces because usually only the first verse is sung in protests. This means I can fit more songs on to a single page.

Albore loses 5000 votes for the FELONS that voted. Is there an illegal Haitian vote that should be removed from official count? I'm sure we can "find" more illegal Gore votes.

I don't have anything new (yet) -- but here is another version of "Grand Old Flag" (although there is still a debate whether it should be "ole"!) and all the verses to our National Anthem -- I found it recently and I have to confess that the one verse has less meaning to me than the whole -- but you never here the entire piece. The links are to the originals -- the Cohan piece includes a midi file, and the first "Star Spangled Banner" link is to a draft signed by Francis Scott Key. I will keep looking for other patriotic pieces.... since I have to stay home and miss the rally here, I want to at least participate in spirit -- oh, praise GOD -- I'm just hearing about the SCOTUS stay decision!!!

You're A Grand Old Flag
by George M. Cohan
You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace
may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I
love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev'ry
heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a
boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the
grand old flag.

Star Spangled Banner
original hand-written text (!)
(The Defense of Fort
McHenry)
September 20, 1814
By Francis Scott Key
Oh, say can you see, by the dawn's early light, On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep, And where is that band who so vauntingly swore Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
What so proudly we hailed
at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars,
through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly
streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave
proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that
star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
Where the
foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze,
o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, now conceals, now discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines on the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled
banner! O long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
That the havoc of war and the battle's
confusion
A home and
a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wiped out their foul
footstep's pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From
the terror of flight, or
the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
Between their loved homes
and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the
heaven-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a
nation.
Then conquer we must, for our cause it is just,
And this be our
motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner forever shall
wave
O'er the land of
the free and the home of the brave!

If your rally happens to run into a pod of radically left wing types, anarchists or farshore socialists try:
Hitler, Stalin, MaoTseTung! / Socialism sure is dumb! / 100 million people dead / Socialists should hang their heads!/Why is it that the don't get it?/They're just useful idiots!
They try to use our virtues and best qualities against us, set up strawmen, misrepresent what we stand for. We should return the favor and shame them with the truth about the results of their political system and what it represents.

We don't get to hear the other verses to the National Anthem often enough.
I've heard that the 3rd verse is rarely performed, or even printed, because the words are a tad.........shall we say........unkind........to the British, and since they are now allies, they may take offense at that verse.

I think you should include *all* the verses of the National Anthem. The part about washing out their foul footsteps pollution, would seem quite appropiate at these ralleys. Everybody, at least everybody that attends these affairs, *knows* the first verse, but not necessarily the others. I myself really didn't know them untill they were handed out at another rally on the courthouse grounds, back when GHWB was CinC and our troops were deployed to foil Sadamns designs.

What? No Bonnie Blue Flag?
Battle Cry of Freedom works great at protests. Southern version though. It's better and it works outside the context of the war.
Our flag is proudly floating
On the land and on the main,
Shout,
shout, the battle cry of
Freedom;
Beneath it oft we've conquered
And will conquer oft
again,
Shout, shout, the battle cry of
Freedom.
Chorus:
Our freedom forever, Is never at a loss
Down with
the tyrants and up with the cross.
We'll rally 'round the bonny
flag,
we'll rally once again.
Shout, shout the battle cry of Freedom.
They have
laid down their lives
On the bloody battle field,
Shout, shout, the
battle cry of
Freedom;
Their motto is resistance
"To tyrants we'll not yield!"
Shout, shout the battle cry of
Freedom.
Chorus
Our gallant boys have marched
To the rolling of the drums,
Shout,
shout the battle cry of
Freedom;
And they head to battle's call as they
Cry forth, "Come boys,
come!"
Shout, shout the battle cry of Freedom.
Chorus

Awll rite ya'll. Now yew gone and done it.
This one ought'n ta be mandentory.
There's a yellow rose of Texas
That I am going
to see,
No other fellow knows her,
No other, only me.
She cried so when
I left her,
It like to break my heart,
And if I ever find her
We never
more will part.
She's the sweetest rose of color
A fellow ever
knew,
Her eyes are bright as diamonds,
They sparkle like the dew.
You
may talk about your dearest May
and sing of Rosa Lee,
But the
Yellow Rose of
Texas
Beats the belles of Tennessee.
Oh,
now I'm going to find her,
For my heart is full of woe,
And we'll sing
the song together,
That we sung long ago;
We'll play the banjo
gaily,
and we'll sing the songs of yore,
and the Yellow
Rose of Texas
Shall be
mine forevermore.
Thank yer much.
